The Cleveland Comedy Company was a locally produced sketch comedy TV show that aired on Channel 5 on Friday nights in 1979 and 1980. It was developed by popular local DJ Bob James of WGAR. The cast included fellow WGAR DJ Paul Tapie, as well as Jane Van Bergen, Denise Putsch, John Stang, Leslie Bryant, Bob Ebersol, and Alfonzo Smith. It was similar to Saturday Night Live, only the focus was on Cleveland area celebrities, politicians, businessmen, sports teams, and culture.
