Capsule 1 “The Health Department“
This capsule is loosely based on “The Health Department,” a punk rock group coming out of Hollywood, CA in the 1970s. The band formed when all four members were fired together from El Coyote for smoking weed and writing music behind the restaurant during a break. This brought them together to pursue music as their last chance. The Dance logo was designed for their kick drum, referencing the Health Department’s personal style and love for Hollywood nightlife.
After great response from the band coming together, they released their first studio album “FILLING THE VOID” which originally aired on MTV. The core elements of The Health Department were still scattered all over the album, but it's dark and sordid sound brilliantly captured the essence of an “underground” band coming to life... In a way, it was noise: the sound of life and death at the same time, annihilating music and rendering it limitless. Learn More @hollywoodfor.ever
